The skipjack tuna is a medium-sized perciform fish in the tuna family. It is a cosmopolitan pelagic fish in tropical and warm-temperate waters.
It is an important commercial fish, usually using purse seine nets to catch, and sell under different presentations such as fresh, frozen, canned, dried, salted, and smoked.
Skipjack is the species most common in canned tuna. It contains good quality protein and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid- type of Omega 3) which is very healthy.
It is mainly from the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean with big quantities.
There is a fish ban from May to July in China. Whole round skipjack is very popular in Asia and the Middle East. We are exporting precooked loin to the European Union, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
Skipjack Tuna can mostly appreciate in European Union, Middle East, and South America too.
